Cat Lee
Originally from Northern Ireland, Cat moved to West Yorkshire in the early nineties to study at Bradford Art School. After a career in lecturing and a lengthy period of ill health, she began creating mixed media art at her kitchen table in 2023 shortly after moving to Littleborough. She exhibited in several national exhibitions in 2024 and recently set up a home studio to create larger mixed media paintings and new work for 2025. Cat is a disabled artist.
Working intuitively with a variety of media, Cat’s evocative mixed media art is inspired by the natural world and a love of storytelling. Exploring the connection between internal and external landscapes and the narratives that unfold, she creates thoughtful paintings, collages and mixed media pieces.
Her goal is to create depth, texture and atmosphere in her work. Whether building up layers with a variety of collage papers and glazes, or sanding back heavily layered paint to reveal mixed media elements, Cat’s creative process is deeply responsive to the materials used for each artwork.
